Our sessions usually run in blocks — usually 6-10 sessions — because the steady rhythm is part of what makes it work. One-off taster sessions, individual top up/consultation session, etc. are fine too; just ask and we'll sort something.
You pay for a block of sessions up front (or we agree a payment plan — just ask), we hold your child's place, and your rate stays the same for the whole block.
For individual sessions, yes — our 10-session blocks are pay for 9, get 10. One session free, because you're committing to that rhythm that makes the input work. It's the same discount whatever rate you're on — the green bottle sliding scale already reflects what each family can manage, and the block deal sits on top of that.
For groups (6-session/half term blocks), there's no free session — group rates are already set to be as reachable as we can make them. The green bottle sliding scale still applies. The block is about securing your child's place in a small group with limited spots.
One honest note: the block discount is for families paying directly. It isn't available to agencies, schools or local authorities booking places — their rate is the standard session rate, which is already below what comparable specialist provision charges.
Not always. A block is a block of our time and input, not strictly direct child sessions. Within an individual block, sessions can include things like:
We'd always agree with you beforehand how we're using the block — nothing gets quietly deducted. The aim is that the block works for your family, not that it fits a rigid shape.
What about reports?
If you'd like a written report at the end of a block, we try to build it into the block rather than billing it separately:
We'll agree with you at the start of the block how many sessions to keep aside for this, so you know what's left for direct input. We might be able to agree and bill for a report separately/additionally from the block of input- just ask and we will see what we can do.
No — steady-ish is good, perfect attendance isn't expected. But we do need a window, because we're holding your child's place.
That allows wiggle room for holidays, illness, and weeks where everything is a bit much. If something big happens — bereavement, long illness, a family situation — talk to us. We'll nearly always find a way to extend.
We follow a school term schedule and do not run sessions in school holidays. These weeks do not count against your block window. Sessions resume when we do and the rhythm picks up where we left off. If keeping in touch would be helpful during a log break ask us and we will see what we can do.
Tell us more than 24 hours ahead and we'll just reschedule you, no charge.
Less than 24 hours (or nothing at all) and the session counts as used. This is because of scheduling, prep, site booking, etc. Although, we understand that ND family life means sometimes the morning just collapses! Tell us what's going on and we'll try to make it work.
We will try to give you as much notice as possible and will always make it up. Always. You will never lose a session because of something on our side — if we're ill, the site's waterlogged, the weather's unsafe. If a make-up session can't fit into your window the window stretches so it does.
Us, hopefully — and you, a little! Our practitioners are neurodivergent people, parents and carers too. We juggle appointments, school runs, and the occasional day where everything lands at once, and sometimes that collides with a session we were looking forward to running.
When that happens we'll tell you as early as possible, be honest about it, and make the session up. All we ask is the same understanding you'd want for your own family.
If our cancellations ever start properly affecting your child's input we'll talk to you about swapping practitioners or adding sessions to get the rhythm back.
Talk to us rather than just fading out. We're a tiny social enterprise and once a block starts, most of our costs are already committed — so refunds for unused sessions are discretionary rather than automatic. But we're fair, especially when circumstances genuinely change.
The flip side: if we ever feel this isn't the right fit for your child any more, we'll say so and refund the unused sessions in full. The right fit matters more to us than the fee.
Then please just tell us. We work in a PDA-informed, neurodivergence-affirming way, and that includes the boring admin. We would always rather have a conversation than have a family quietly struggle.
