Work with us

There are two ways to work with us: commission our services (as a professional, school, or local authority) and join our team.

Get in touch for a chat!

Commission our services

We work with families who fund directly, and with professionals and services who commission places on a child's behalf — local authorities, schools, EOTAS teams, social workers, and other providers.

What we can offer as part of a package:

  • Bespoke packages of therapeutic forest school input to meet the needs of individuals- this is flexible and may start as individual session at our site and then be integrated into school setting and/or home to make sure strategies that work
  • Dynamic assessment that considers what is working and where the gaps are
  • Individual speech, language and communication sessions — in the forest school site, at home, or in the school setting.
  • Places in our small therapeutic forest school groups (3–5 children)
  • Joint working with our practitioners — SLTs and OTs working from the same ND-affirming principles, sharing what they see so the support fits together around the whole child
  • Liaison with other professionals (e.g. education, NHS services)
  • Attendance at reviews, and written input for IDP processes (summary and full reports)
  • Steady blocks of input, with clear reporting built in
  • Training sessions or workshops for families, carers, staff, and peers

Our approach in commissioned work is the same as everywhere else: neurodivergence-affirming, PDA-informed, child-led, and honest. We don't deliver compliance-based programmes, and we'll always tell you plainly what we think is (and isn't) working.

Rates and referral: contact us at info@talktothetrees.org for current rates and to discuss a referral. We're an approved EOTAS provider for the local authority and happy to talk through how a package could fit a child's plan.

Join our team

We're a small, growing, neurodivergent-led social enterprise, and we're always interested in hearing from practitioners who work the way we do — SLTs, OTs, therapeutic forest school practitioners, and therapists from other disciplines too (drama, music, art, play therapy — if it fits the outdoors and the ethos, we'd love to talk).

You don't need outdoor therapy experience. You need to be ND-affirming, curious, and passionate about child led work with relevant experience and training.. It helps if you find the outdoors regulating!!  We'll help you develop the outdoor practice.

What working with us looks like

  • Work alongside clients in focused episodes of care — no long-term commitment required
  • Flexible- self employed/sessional/sole trader
  • Work in a truly client-led partnership
  • Ideal if you're curious about independent or third sector work
  • Fits easily alongside other roles — start with one to two clients a week, and the caseload grows over time depending on need and your capacity
  • Access our forest school sites for outdoor sessions
  • Develop outdoor therapy or forest school-informed practice
  • Deliver work as an approved EOTAS provider for the local authority
  • Work alongside highly specialist SLTs, OTs and other ND-affirming practitioners
  • Support and oversight from a committed, diverse board of trustees

What we offer

  • Supportive supervision
  • Space to shape your practice
  • Opportunities to integrate and develop your own specialism
  • Join us as a collaborative partner in shaping our values-led practice
  • Future employment possibilities as we grow

If you have reached out before and haven't heard back, please do reach out again — life is busy and we are neurodivergent and messages genuinely do get lost, and it's never because we weren't interested.

A CV is useful but a conversation matters more!
